Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30pm – 10pm and Wednesday from 9.00am – 11.30am. We’re open for all public holidays except between Christmas and New Year, any exceptions to this will be advertised on our socials – Facebook and Instagram.
New players at night sessions will need to come on a Tuesday or Thursday night for their 1st visit.
What playing standard do I have to be at?
Unfortunately we are not able to cater for complete beginners. You’ll need to be an advanced beginner who can hold a good 20 – 30 shot rally to the back of the court and know where to stand on court. Session organisers will assess your skills during your first visit to see how you go before you can join
How much does it cost?
Visitor fees are $12.00 a session which includes shuttles and court hire, cash only (exact amount preferred as limited options for change). For full pricing information, click HERE. A membership program is available which gives you discounted rates per session
What can I expect at the club?
We have 4 courts at the Sandringham Youth Centre and we play social doubles games. Session organisers arrange the games – usually two games to 21 points. We aim to arrange games that maximise participation and enjoyment for all. The club provides feathered shuttles free of charge and we also have racquets for hire. We use the simplified scoring method
Can I play with my mates all night?
Not as such. We organise the games for all attendees and games are organised on a rotation system based on similar skill levels so that everyone gets a fair go. We will try to accommodate requests where possible but we can’t guarantee it
Can I play at Adult sessions if I am not yet 18 years old?
Adult sessions are only for players 18 years and older. We have Junior sessions available for players under 18 years of age.
Who runs the sessions?
We have a number of volunteer session organisers who run our sessions: Evenings: Peter & Jeremy Wed morning: Bill
Do you offer coaching lessons?
Sorry, but we don’t offer coaching lessons at our Adult sessions but we suggest Hung (0434 679 284) who coaches at Springers Leisure Centre in Keysborough
Can I hire the courts at Bayside Badminton Club?
We don’t hire out the courts. Check out Springers Leisure Centre (Keysborough), Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (Albert Park) or Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (East Bentleigh) for court hire
